Phoenix Landscaping & Irrigation FAQs
What areas around Phoenix do you serve?
We serve homeowners across the Valley of the Sun, from the historic Arcadia and Biltmore neighborhoods beneath Camelback Mountain to Ahwatukee at the foot of South Mountain. Our crews regularly work North Central Phoenix, Moon Valley, Sunnyslope, Desert Ridge, Deer Valley, and Paradise Valley, and travel out to Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, and Tempe. If you are anywhere between the Loop 101 and Camelback Road, along 7th Street, Cave Creek Road, or Tatum Boulevard, we can help.
How often should I water my yard in the Phoenix desert?
It depends on the season and your plants, but our low-desert climate calls for watering deeply and less often. At the peak of a Phoenix summer, established desert trees may only need a slow, deep soak every 7 to 10 days, while lawns and annuals need much more. We design and fine-tune drip and sprinkler systems to Arizona watering guidelines so you are not wasting water or money when temperatures top 110 degrees.
Can you install irrigation in Phoenix caliche and rocky soil?
Absolutely. Caliche, that cement-hard layer of calcium carbonate, plus rocky hardpan are common across the Valley, especially near the South Mountain and Camelback foothills and out in Desert Ridge and Ahwatukee. We have the equipment to trench and set proper drip lines and sprinkler heads through it so your system runs reliably for years.
Do you handle monsoon storm cleanup?
Yes. Phoenix monsoon season runs roughly mid-June through September and can drop palm fronds, snap mesquite and palo verde limbs, and blow debris across your yard. We offer storm cleanup and haul-away, plus preventative trimming before the haboobs and microbursts roll in off the desert.
What plants and trees thrive in a Phoenix landscape?
Low-water, desert-adapted species do best here: palo verde, mesquite, and desert willow for shade; agave, desert spoon, and red bird of paradise for color; and lantana or bougainvillea for low-maintenance ground cover. We design xeriscapes that look great year-round and shrug off both our extreme summers and mild winters, the kind of plantings you see thriving around Papago Park and the Desert Botanical Garden.
Does artificial turf hold up to Phoenix heat?
Yes. We install heat-rated synthetic turf built for the low desert, with proper base prep and drainage so it sheds water fast during monsoon downpours and stays cooler underfoot. It is a popular water-saving choice for backyards from Arcadia to Ahwatukee where summer lawns struggle.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
We are. Desert Vine Landscaping is a licensed, bonded Arizona landscape contractor with an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and a record of serving the Phoenix area since 1999. You are covered from the first consultation to the final walkthrough.
How do I get a free estimate, and how soon can you come out?
